anotace	Udržitelná architektura by měla představovat komplexní přístup, který je ekologický a ekonomický, ale též udržitelný po stránce sociální a kulturní, a především je plnohodnotně schopen splnit estetická očekávání společnosti. Neměl by se zabývat jen technickým řešením stavby. Vnějším vyjádřením estetiky stavby je pak její forma a ta je navenek reprezentována pláštěm budovy. „Obálka“ nejen určuje podobu stavby, kterou vnímáme, ale může mít i potenciál efektivně řešit budoucí technické požadavky. Může udržitelná architektura mít vlastní formu a estetiku, je nějaké formální vyjádření pro udržitelnost architektury přínosné? Sustainable architecture should represent a holistic approach, both ecological and economical, but also sustainable in the social and cultural areas, and, importantly, be able to fulfil the aesthetic expectations of the society. It should be concerned with more than just technical aspects. The outer expression of a building’s aesthetics is its form, which in turn is represented by the building skin. The “envelope” does not only define the appearance of the building we perceive, it can also have the potential to solve its future technical needs. Can sustainable architecture have its own form and aesthetics; is any particular formal expression advantageous for sustainable architecture?
