anotace The current phase of development of Central European cities is generally referred to as post-industrial. In terms of post-socialist (post-totalitarian) countries can be a turning point between industrial and post-industrial consider the societal changes since 1989. The same is the case with the South Moravian capital of Brno, even though there has been a change in conditions and still have a relatively long delay. Particularly in the city centers and the wider Central European cities there are many unused and neglected areas with an area of only a dozen square meters, which, however, have a major impact on the image of. Many such sites are thus finds themselves out of favor of governments, investors and grants. Already in 2010 architect Jiří Palacký, defined the term miniBrownfields in response to the current methodology for assessing brownfields. According Palacky miniBrownfields represent the designs of buildings on brownfield plots of minimum size and unusual configuration, deliberately situated in an attractive position (in zone A and B) within the administrative boundaries of the city of Brno. It is clear that this definition is transferable to other cities and can represent not only building designs, but any form of recovery of these unused or derelict sites. While in the case of traditional brownfield the process of its regeneration is executed using strategic urban planning tools in case of miniBrownfields also urban tactical tools and procedures can be used. Inspiration for the solution of such sites can be found mainly in settlements in developed countries that already have a transformation from an industrial (modernist) of the post-industrial (post-modern) city has undergone. Research process is oriented towards promoting the issue of miniBrownfields to stakeholders and citizens to give them both know-how and motivation to change their cities.
