7th international conference "Architecture and Urbanism: Contemporary research" took place at the Faculty of Architecture, Czech Technical University in Prague on December 7th – 8th, 2017. The even.t focused on the doctoral students of architecture, urbanism and related fields from the region of Central Europe. All conference papers have been reviewed.

Component Assemblies – generované štruktúry ako protoarchitektonické formy

anotace	Príspevok opisuje východiská, proces a vytvára závery projektu Component assemblies, ktorý autori príspevku (s kolegami R. Hajtmánkom a T. Vozárovou) viedli v rámci predmetu Digitálna Architektúra 2 počas letného semestra 2017. V spolupráci so študentmi bol generatívnym procesom vytvorený digitálny model štruktúr s potenciálom ďalšieho rastu. Proces rastu a samotné štruktúry boli overené v prostredí virtuálnej reality v ľudskej mierke a zároveň fabrikované CAM technológiami v mierke modelu. Generatívny proces sprostredkúva architektonický koncept a význam na základe definovaných parametrov. Projekt overuje metódu výskumu navrhovaním v rámci multidisciplinárnych tém. The article describes the theoretical background, process and outputs of Component assemblies project. Project was led by authors of the article (with colleagues R. Hajtmánek, T. Vozárová) as a part of the course Digital Architecture 2 during the summer semester 2017. In cooperation with students, there was developed a generative process to create digital model of structure with the potential of next growth. Process of growth and structures themselves were implemented to the virtual reality in human scale and fabricated by CAM technologies in the scale of model. Generative process reflects architectural concept and meaning based on predefined relations and parameters. Project tries to verify the research by design method within interdisciplinary topics.
