anotace	Studium geometrie nosné konstrukce historických mostů přináší dosud málo akcentované souvislosti mezi geometrickými postupy při architektonickém a inženýrském návrhu mostu a jeho technickou realizací. Nové geometrické postupy publikované již od konce 17. století, nové technologie zpracování tradičních materiálů (zvláště dřeva a kamene), včetně nových konstrukčních technologií, které se začaly významněji rozvíjet od počátku 18. století (např. stereotomie), a konečně i zcela nové materiály, které jsou doménou 19. a 20. století (ocel, železový beton, předpjatý beton), přinesly i možnost kreativních změn tvaru mostních konstrukcí. Tento příspěvek je zaměřen na historický výsek konce 19. a počátku 20. století, kdy články publikované v Technickém obzoru samotnými autory návrhů (například Kolář, Mencl, Tolman, Velflík) odkrývají konstrukční postupy a jejich myšlenkové pozadí při tvorbě jedné z historicky nejvýznamnějších etap českého mostního stavitelství. Studies in geometry of load-bearing structures of historical bridges show so far little accentuated context between geometric procedures applied in architectural and engineering bridge design and its technical realization. New geometric methods published since the end of the 17th century, new technologies of processing traditional materials (especially timber and stone), including new construction technologies, which began to develop more significantly from the beginning of the 18th century (e.g. stereotomy), andfinally completely new materials, which are the domain of the 19th and 20th centuries (steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete), also brought the possibility of creative changes in the shape of bridgestructures. This paper focuses on a historical section of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, where articles published in the Technický obzor (Technical Horizon Journal) by the authors of the designs themselves (e.g. Kolář, Mencl, Tolman, Velflík) reveal design procedures and their intellectual background in creating one of the most historically significant periods of the Czech bridge construction.
